Yes, It’s Friday! Hooray!!!

Happy Friday to all!! Just have a few little bits of news for today.

Live Webcast for NAPP Members
First don’t forget Dave Cross and Matt Kloskowski will be hosting another live webinar today at 3:00pm EST exclusively for NAPP members. Join them as they bring you some of the hottest tips and techniques from Photoshop User magazine. As usual, there will a live blog where you can ask questions directly. I will also be logged into the blog to answer questions as well. So if you are NAPP member be sure to tune in. It’s a great way to end the work week.

Layers TV Special Guests
Next be sure to check out this week’s episode of Layers TV as we have special guest and Photoshop Guy: Dave Cross. He demonstrates some of the cool new stroke features in Adobe Illustrator CS5. Also check out last week’s episode where we had another special guest. Famed After Effects guru, Andrew Kramer of VideoCopilot.net. Andrew is noted for working of such projects like the last Star Trek movie and the hit TV show Fringe. He demonstrates a cool new plug-in using After Effects CS5. Click here to watch now.

Photoshop Parody Song…Really?
Lastly, you know how you hear those cheesy songs and they somehow end up annoyingly looping in your head? Well this song is no exception. There is a new parody of “Tik Tok” by Kesha over on YouTube with the lyrics reworked and catered to Photoshop. The lyrics are actually quite clever but it is perhaps one of the nerdiest songs you will ever hear. Click here and Enioy!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your seminar last Friday in Nashville. It was well worth the trip.

Create A Composite Layer

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.

Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
