The Man Who Is One With Nature

Nature Photography, that is. A couple of weeks ago we had a visitor in our office. Wildlife photographer Moose Peterson stopped by to say Hi and even made a quick appearance on Photoshop TV, showing off his new Nikon D3. If you don’t know who Moose is then you must at least check out his site – here. He is a regular speaker at Photoshop World. At the last Photoshop World he presented his most recent slideshow. It was the first time I had ever seen a standing ovation for a photography slideshow, and it was well-deserved. His images are simply stunning. Moose also hosts the Digital Landscape Workshop Series, which our very own Scott Kelby has taught at. So even if you are not interested in wildlife or landscape photography, have a look anyway. It is quite inspiring.

Create A Composite Layer

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.

Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
