SAVE $100 NOW

After April 30, 2007 Adobe will no longer be offering Adobe Photoshop Lightroom at the introductory price of $199. It will go back up to its original price of $299. This is still an amazing offer and you have only 2 days left to take advantage of it. So don’t be one of those people that waits and then wishes they had done it. You can find out more here.
Also, if you want to get up to speed in a hurry, check out Scott Kelby’s new book: The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers. This is the definitive guide. It will get you past the techno-babble and will have you correcting images within the first few pages.

Create A Composite Layer

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.

Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
