This week I highly recommend Ben Willmore’s newest book: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Studio Techniques. This is the 6th edition of Ben’s fabulous series. I personally have learned an insane amount just from this series alone. Especially the chapter on curves. Ben’s straightforward explanation of how curves works is quite possibly the most informative out there. This chapter alone is worth the price. The book is also jam-packed with loads of in-depth lessons for the beginner all the way to the advanced user. Read other reviews and find out more about the book here.

You can open RAW images in Camera Raw right from Bridge in Photoshop CS3. This frees up Photoshop to continue working on your files while they’re being processed in Camera Raw. Just select one or more images in Bridge, Control-click (PC: Right-click) on them, and choose Open in Camera Raw. This will open the image(s) in Bridge’s Camera Raw rather than Photoshop. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Command-R (PC: Ctrl-R).
