Not A NAPP Member???

Well, what’s the matter with you? There’s no better time to become a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals than now. There are some amazing things coming up this year: the new Lightroom release is coming soon and, of course, the all-new Creative Suite 3. Being a NAPP member will get you up to speed on these new applications faster than any other resource out there. Plus, we have Photoshopworld coming up in about a month and a half in Boston. Just imagine, three days of Photoshop as well as other stuff like a Lightroom track and Illustrator instruction. Not to mention, as a NAPP member you get access to the member website where you can check out exclusive member tutorials and more. Your membership also includes a subscription to Photoshop User magazine and the new Darkroom magazine. Whew!!! There’s more, but I just can’t stand it. It’s way too good of a deal. Go check it out here. If you are serious at all about Photoshop, you won’t regret it.

Create A Composite Layer

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.

Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
