Well, we’re here in Boston for Photoshop World and it is freakin’ cold!!! However that will not stop us on our quest for awesomeness today. I will be helping Matt Kloskowski with his new HDR pre-con. Which will be a bit of a learning experience for me as I am wanting to sharpen my HDR skills as well. It hopes to be a blast. It all leads up to tomorrow which is the big day. I still get super excited for the keynote. It is always fun and no matter how much we prepare there is always something unexpected bound to happen. There might even be some surprise announcements. If you are here, prepare yourself!!!
Check out Scott Kelby’s blog tomorrow as the incomparable Joe McNally will be featured as the guest blogger. Joe is arguably one of the best photographers working today and just recently released his newest book: “The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flash which was recently rated in the top ten best selling books of all books on Amazon. With the combination of Joe’s hilarious teaching style and unmatched brilliance there aren’t many reasons for you not to grab it. Check it out here.

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.
Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
