Here we go. The time has come to kick off Photoshop World Las Vegas. Yesterday was pre-con day and it was a huge success. I peeked in Russell Brown’s 3D Lenticular class and it was quite fascinating. However I didn’t really have eight hours to sit through the whole thing but what I did see was quite amazing.
So I ran into John Paul Caponigro in the casino yesterday and he told me he wanted to try and do a massive Photoshop coblogging thing. Where each of the instructors that has a blog would post something of their experience here at Photoshop World each day of the event. I thought this was a great idea. Here is the link to JP’s blog which has links to other instructors blogs as well.
The other day Matt Kloskowski and I went out to Nellis Air Force base here in Las Vegas to check out the famous Thunderbirds. It was really something. We got to go in the hangar and meet some of the crew and then out to the tarmac to get some really close up shots. Click these links to see some of the shots I got. Image 1. Image 2. Image 3.

Continue exploring the possibilities with Photoshop’s new 3D tools.
Corey shows you how to make a new photo look damaged by blending in some unusual textures.
Use Photoshop’s new 3D tools to create some dazzling background effects.
In the second part of this tutorial, Corey finishes creating this illustration of a striking match.
In Bridge, you can add keywords to images to make searching for pictures a little less cumbersome. You don’t, however, want the process to become tedious as well. By either Command-clicking (PC: Ctrl-clicking) or Shift-clicking on images, you can select multiple files inside Bridge. Once you have the files selected, you can go to the Keywords panel and turn on any keyword you like. This will apply the keyword to all of the files that you have selected. It takes away a little bit of the pain of categorization, but just a little.

Great shots Corey, any chance you could post the camera settings? I’m curious how the desert sun factors in.

Hi Corey, Did you add anything to that sun in the first image with PS? Awesome shot!

Helping out:
Image 1) 1/200, f22, ISO 200, 18mm
Image 2) 1/1250, f6.3, ISO 200, 170mm
Image 3) 1/1600, f5, ISO 200, 48mm
All is revealed in the EXIF data
Pretty sure the sun is as it was (small aperture = star effect). I’d hope any PS would clean up that dirty sensor first
Corey, congrats on the tour of the T-Birds (I was just a few rows down, wish I knew you guys were there!) hope to meet you and the rest of the Photoshop Guys this weekend.

Glad you’re having a great time at PS World. Since I’m unable to attend I must get vicarious thrills through you. I’m guessing that a ride on one of those T-Birds would require some industrial strength underwear! Keep shooting and posting, Corey. Best of luck in your presentations out there. Wish I could see them!

Awesome photos! Jet against mountains – VERY nice. An exciting place, isn’t it? Been there too –
Enjoy the rest of the conf. – I’m here in Florida waiting on some more hurricanes. Enjoy the weather there in Vegas.
Hope to get to the next NAPP conf. here in the Southeast!
