So, we have all been having a lot of fun with the new Photoshop CS3 Public Beta and if you are using an Intel Mac like me, you know that one of the really frustrating things is the lack of a visible cursor preview. When using the brush tool and such, all you see is that little crosshair. It’s annoying isn’t it? Well, it seems Adobe has fixed the problem but will not be able to post another public Beta before the product actually ships. They are offering users a chance to test it out and make sure it’s functioning properly by sigining up to download a private build. So, if you are the serious CS3 user, then go to this link for more details.

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.
Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
