The new visual workflow software from GridIron Software is now available. Flow is a new software application that allows you to visually map the path of any file assets you have attached to certain projects. No more wondering which version of a logo you have placed in a particular file. Flow will show you exactly which file it is associated with a visual map. It will also alert you if you try to delete a file that is placed in a different file. This is a remarkable asset management tool that no creative professional should be without. You can get more information and order yours here.

This week Corey has a cool new trick for using 3D reflections in a rather creative way!
If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.
Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).

Be warned. One license only works on one machine. Most of us work either at work and home, or work and on site with clients. This means you are forced to buy either two licenses or the 3 license pack at $400. This is BS since most software allows two machines per license for the exact reason I stated.

This is one of those programs that you think you don’t really need until you try it. I was just updating my portfolio, and it just so happens that I’m not the most organized guy in the world. Anyway, this program worked wonders in helping me locate all the files I used in certain compositions. It even uncovered different versions I had forgot I saved!
