displacement!!!

I have a project where i have to put scars on a mans face, i need to know how to use a displacement to get the scars to look like they are not just lines on the face, can any one tell me ho to do displacements.

I'm not sure what you mean by "displacement" in relation to photoshop images... But, I would draw the "lines" of the scars and then apply an inner bevel to create the depth of the scars.
