I know this question should be a bit of a no brainer but for the life of me I cannot work it out. I have taken some pictures which I have converted into Black & White but I want them all to be a certain size so that I can linear frame them. The size I am tring to get is 6 x 4 (inches). Is there an easy way to do this is in CS2? I would be grateful for a steer.

Hi,
I need to know do you want to Upsize your images or Downsize them in order to help you. Post your document dimensions with all width and height and resolution pixels per inch.

I should have been a bit more clearer - sorry!
I am trying to downsize the pictures currently they are 3872 x 2592 pixels
making them 12.907 x 8.64 inches at 300DPI
I would like to make them 6 inches wide and 4 inches high
Many thanks

I have found that going to the "Help" and scrolling down to "resize image" can help you to create the size that you want. Going smaller is much better than going larger, because you won't lose detail. I hope that helps -

Hi Ambler,
The way you should downsize your image is this: open your image than go to IMAGE>IMAGE SIZE and when image size windows opens in Document Size part set one of the measures you like width or height (because of the proportions of your image you may not get exact value or maybe you do get:D ) but if you don't get exact measure we will fix it in later steps. So you have set for example width to 6 inches and height is some different number than go to where says BICUBIC you choose BICUBIC SHARPER (this is interpolation mode used for reducing image size and for keeping details on image) and click OK.
After that if you have exact measures for width and height you are done if you have slight over for width or height do this. Take Crop tool (C) and in Options bar set your image width and height and resolution you like and crop it.
NOTE: you should know this in IMAGE SIZE window you may for example enter the value for width 6 in and height will itself change to nuber smaller than 4 in. Just reverse than enter first for height 4 in and you will get width larger nuber than 6 in. This is case because of proprtions of an image. Than Crop tool and you know the rest.
And by the way you can upsize your image without loss of quality. Only thing is you to have image with decent quality but next time with upsizing :D
Hope it was helpful
See ya
