Editing tools stop working

Hi, Just wondering why tools work for awhile and then seem to stop working.
eg. I'm using the clone stamp tool to lines in a photo that was scanned using a a scanner that pulled the photo through ...like a printer pulls paper through. It left little wheel marks and I'm trying to edit them out. At first the clone stamp works and I am able to make sectons of the lines blend in with the surroundings. After while though the clone stamp seems to stop working.

I try other tools ...they too work for one or two sections then stop working.

I try a brush ..it won't paint black over the lines I'm trying to get rid of.

I am running on a laptop with a 2g processor and don't seem to have a memory problem.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi,

What OS platform do you have, WIN or MAC?
If your photoshop is on Windows OS sometimes depends of how
you use your operating system and it can cause problems (registry is nasty). Try
to reinstall completely (with registry values) Photoshop and if you run
again on same problem i'm afraid you'll need to reinstall Windows and
format that system partition. That should work.
