Hi All,

I took a photo in photoshop, added a logo that I created in Illustrator and then used the Vanishing Point tool to give it the right perspective. My problem is when I save the image as a jpg and try to bring it back into Illustrator it looks bad??

What am I doing wrong, should I be saving it differently?

Thanks,
P

Actually, when you save your image as JPG, you're compressing your data. Also, the vector information gets lost. If you want to preserve the vector info in your Photoshop file copy from Illustrator, then paste in Photoshop and, in the dialog box that appears select As a Smart object. That way if you later want edit the vector file, all you have to do is double clicking the layer with the smart object.
Keep in mind that you cannot save vector data in a JPG so, make sure saving your file as .psd and then, save a copy as JPG.

As ProfeIvan said don't do under any circumstances to flatten and save as JPEG cause with that action you turned your vector art into pixels. And JPEG is lossy compression that means is lower quality depends in what resolution per inch you save your document. 72ppi and 96ppi is screen resolution and 180ppi is considered as lowest resolution for desktop printers. If you want to print your artwork on professional printing device minimum is 300ppi but don't go above that resolution either cause your file size will be enormous. By the way rock your SMART OBJECTS baby :-)
