Problem With Lighting Effects Filter

Lighting effects filter:

Problem: When I select the floodlight or spotlight the affect and move it around, the affect of the first placement persists, even when I change the position; ie. if I start with the light coming down from the top and move the light so it comes from the side; and click 'OK', the image will show the effect of 2 spotlights; one from above and one from the side.

What am I doing wrong?
