I am currently working on a boat catalog. Here is one of the images I am working with.

This was my goal:

1. Use the background from the image with the sunset.
2. Place the boat from the other shot in place of the existing one.
3. Color balance the two shots. (They were WAY off)
4. Finally, add extra water to the right side. This took the most time of all.

Quite impressive Rob. The only thing that distractied me initially was the dark shape underneath the hull. Upon closer inspection it appears to be the reflection of the hull in the primary (scene) image. Unfortunately you did not have such a reflection in the secondary image to draw from.
I would investigate either removing or changing the shape of the reflection to be more in keeping with the new hull length.
Good job on the water extension. Natural elements are usually the most difficult.
