How do you cut part of a video file into an animated gif?

ive seen a tutorial somewhere can't remember where?

There is one on here in the tutorials section. For me, it doesn't work. I opt for an alternative 3rd party program instead. If your interest, let me know and I can point you that direction.

Alternatively, you can see if someone replies for ya on how to do it in Imageready. The tutorial here didn't seem to work on CS2, so unless there is a plugin, I dont know either.

and i use Video Avatar (http://www.geovid.com/sp/Video_Avatar/), it makes animated gif from video files too, but it has an option of cropping, that is very convenient.
