Hi!
I've been looking and asking around for this, but I can't find an answer.
My question is: Are there keyboard shortcuts if you want to change to another layer?
I use Photoshop CS4.
Thanks in advance!

First welcome to the Planet! :)
You mean to jump from one layer to another - make it active for editing?
If is that:
press and hold OPTION | ALT + ] (right bracket) - will go up one layer in stack of layers,
press and hold OPTION | ALT + [ (left bracket) - will go down one layer in stack of layers,
now to move layers with keyboard shortcuts:
press and hold COMMAND | CTRL + ] (right bracket) - will move up layer above selected layer,
press and hold COMMAND | CTRL + [ (left bracket) - will move one layer bellow selected layer
adding the SHIFT key into the mix like COMMAND | CTRL + SHIFT + ] (right bracket) - will move up selected layer to top of the layer stack,
COMMAND | CTRL + SHIFT + [ (left bracket) - will move down selected layer to the bottom of the layer stack. In this case if you have Background layer it will place it right above it.
And many more layer shortcuts.... stay tuned :D
If any questions please shoot :D You can find a lot helpful gals and guys here.
Cheers ;)

Thank you Nemesis, for the welcome and for the good answer!
Now, my problem is that I'm on a norwegian keyboard, and the bracket keys are hiding behind Alt Gr + 8/9. They won't work in keyboard shortcuts. I have ltried to edit the shortcuts in the shortcut dialog box. I found the "move layers"-shortcuts and successfully edited them, but I can't find the "jump to the layer above/below"-shortcuts. Can you please point me in the right direction?
Have a nice sunday! :)

Hello buddy :)
Well as you know already under Photoshop Menu (MAC) or Edit Menu (PC) go to Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus select Shortcuts for: Application Menus. Then you will get list with triangles of main Photoshop menus and you expand one with LAYERS and you have to scroll a bit down until you get to the part where says Arrange> and beneath that you will see keyboard shortcuts for Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward and Send to Back. And you will be able to edit to your liking.
Just as idea why don't you add English keyboard when you are working with Photoshop so you can take advantage of that? You bracket keys will be located next to the letter P.
Cheers :)

Hi Nemesis and thanks again!
I found the shortcuts for Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward and Send to Back and edited them with great results :-) Very usefull stuff!
But I still can't find the two first shortcuts you mentioned, the "make the layer above active" and "make layer below active". Do you know where they are hiding?
Cheers :)
Edit: I could try changing the keyboard layout, that's a good idea if I can't fix this otherwise.
