Displacement queery

Following this tut.

I get to the bit where you have to select displace but it is grayed out.
Can anyone help me?
I follow the guide step by step.

Sounds like you are working with a 16 or 32 bit image. Change to 8 bit and I bet it works just fine.:)

Yep. I can second that too. Even in CMYK or Grayscale mode Displace filter will work. But 16 or 32 bit is no no.
