Hey everyone,

I followed Corey's recent tutorial on Dancing with the Stars. I created a lens flare, but I keep getting an opaque background around my flares, so I get a box around them. I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong as far as settings. Any ideas? My background is black, but I still see a colored box around them...not sure if that's from adding an outer glow or not.

Check to see if you have any style settings on by default. Options bar should show you if you have. Also you can precisely position flares by using the info panel and alt clicking on the flare menu window. Forget the exact details but Corey covered this elsewhere.

Perhaps someone else can chirp in with the precise details.

No - I do not think it a style or style setting issue but I did try out the positioning. Window open Info Panel. Cursor over where you want the flare and jot down the x and y coords from the menu window. Filter Render Lens Flare and alt click on it (Windows of course - not sure for MAC) you will get a Precise Flare Center menu. Enter the coordinates - hit OK - and Bob's your uncle - precise!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give that a try. Hopefully someone else tried that tutorial and noticed something similiar...
