Greetings,

I'm a newb and can't find an answer in these or any other forums-probably because it's so basic.
I'm trying to convert stills to a non-square pixel ratio for import into final Cut Pro based on Ken Stone's tutorial http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/basic_ps.html but I can't figure out how to paste a photo file (I've tried .jpg, and .psd,) to a new project based on the image size he recomends (720x540). This is step 3 in the tutorial if you've checked it out.
I can't just copy and paste from the photo to the new project or use the place comand for some reason and when i try to select the entire photo (scanned as a .jpg from a 35 mm color slide) with the rectangular marque tool I only get a corner of the image zoomed way in when I drop it onto the new canvas.
I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that the original image size is 2870x4203 with a resolution of 2900 pix/inch and i'm trying to paste it into a 720x540 72 pix/inch project but I have no idea how to get around it and I can't find the answer in the help menu or in any forums.

Sorry for the long post, link, and likely dumb question but I'm a little under the gun here.

thanks in advance,
adam

Nothing like being under the gun and not being able to make software do what you want it to do. Arg!

Can you try lowering the resolution of the Photoshop document first, before you do the paste?
