history delete confirmation

is there a way to turn off the confirmation dialog box in the history palette?
everytime I delete steps it asks me to confirm that.

This may not be the only solution, but from the History states palette, when I drag a History state to the tiny trashcan at the bottom right of that palette, I don't get the confirmation dialog. I don't see a way to toggle that warning off, nor does holding down a modifer key (like Option) seem to do the trick.

Anybody else know of something?
