Surely there are many artists out here who wouldn't mind a little freelance work, though I see that none have responded so far (could be the holidays too).

You might try posting a few more details about the job, such as, are you willing to pay, what you're looking for, etc.

Its going to start with me going out to hairdressing salons selling professional scissors and later, add other products to the portfolio

You should learn how to do it yousself in Photoshop. It isn't hard to do. Just pick a good font, then select the layer and put an effect on it. Maybe drop shadow. Maybe gradient overlay. Try it out, you might learn something :D
