Hi,

I'm new to Photoshop and not exactly sure about the terminology. You know that in movies or on tv they sometimes have a foto that shows no detail and then enhance the resolution or something and then the quality of the enhanced foto is great. I know that this is just fiction butI was wondering if it was at all possible to do this with either photoshop or another program.
Also I heard this process was called redigitizing. Is this true?

Thanks,

For more information on such a technique, you might be interested in a rocket scientist turned image specialist that was interviewed on last night's Your Mac Life internet radio show (http://www.yourmaclife.com) (scroll down the home page for the archives, or click the "Listen now" button at the top to hear the stream of last night's show, which is available until next Wednesday). His name is Dr. Ross Allen and he spoke briefly about the image enhancement techniques we see on TV shows like Alias.

He said unless you have multiple cameras shooting from multiple angles, it's really not possible to enhance images to the point we see portrayed on TV or the big screen. If you *did* have multiple cams at multiple angles and different distances, then it might be possible (with highly specialized software) to merge those different perspectives in order to enhance detail of a certain area.
