I have worked with Paint Shop Pro for a while, but now I am starting with Photoshop CS2, because of a new job. In PSP I worked a lot with greyscale images which I applied as masks to a layer. I am not sure what is the easiest way to do this in PS. In PSP I had a button in the layer palette that did the job for me: 'Add mask from image'. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks! :)

You can add a layer mask by clicking the circle within a square icon at the bottom of your layers palette. You can paste into that mask by Option (PC: Alt) clicking it the mask thumbnail itself first (your document will go blank), then using the paste command.
Does that help?

Yes, that certainly helps. Thank you. I do that many times a day, so this saves me a lot of clicks. Thanks again. ;)
