Problems saving files in photoshop

I am unable to save my files in photoshop. I have some files open in photoshop which I spent hours retouching. When I go to files save as or save the option to save is greyed out. I am running CS2 on a mac OS10.4.3. Help I don't want to loose these files. All my other applications seem to be running normally.

Gads, how terrifying! Have you run out of hard drive or scratch disk space? Do you have an external drive you can hook up on which to save the documents?
