CS Save For Web changes colors, help!!

I'm setting up my photos on photos.net for others to critique and for some reason the web site will not allow jpeg files that are saved using the "save" option in PS 7 or CS. I am instructed to choose the "Save For Web" option. Unfortunately, this changes my photo of a surfer in vibrant green water into a surfer in brown water.

I tried increasing the quality to 100% (inside Save For Web) and there is no change.

My Color Settings are RGB - sRGB.

Here are some suggestions from the web site, but these were of no help. I need help from people who know Photoshop.

Are you choosing "progressive" when creating a jpeg through the save for web option?

I saved using "Progressive" and the color looks like a match. I think this may have solved the problem.

Heehee... most excellent, though it'd be cool to know *why* that made a difference. Anybody out there know?
