The old Photoshop had the export transparency option, what is the best way to do a transparency now?
Iknow about the saving as a PNG file, but that doesn't work for use because our system for printing requires an EPS.

Hello,

Try to save as PNG and import it in Illustrator and from there make changes for print document. You can save as Photoshop EPS file but it doesn't supports transparency but that is no good for you. In Illustrator you could fix that. Anyways it would be helpful if you can describe what do you want to print and on what. Maybe there is a workaround.

We do 20 or 25 trans a day and the work around you describe would add way too much time to our workload.

Hello Wyoming Wind,

Does your printing system supports Post Script or PDF? It is kind unbelievable to me that some professional output device doesn't supports Post Script, PDF or TIFF. Those formats are standards in printing industry.
As i said it would be a lot helpful if you can describe what you print and what kind of paper or any printing material you use for your prints and what kind output device you use for printing such as offset ...? If you can provide me such information my explanation to you would be detailed and more accurate.

Hi,

I pinched this from another forum, try it and let us know.

Go to FILE>SAVE FOR WEB & DEVICES and when dialog appears in drop down menu where it says JPEG you choose PNG-24 and click SAVE. That will preserve transparency in your document.

Hope this is it:)

We had to change a couple settings around and now the PNG file format works. Thanks, John
