New image from copy/cut

Hi
I have been looking for this for ages without success and it seems a basic thing to have.
I am working in PS CS and often want to select an erea of my current image and create a new image from the copy or cut.
My process which works fine is Copy then File/New then OK to the dialog box. Then paste. This process gives me an image of exactly the right size and shape as the Selection.
I have tried creating an action but it seems to not create the correct size image.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hi - I made the action for you.

Just make your selection in any image and then run the action that I have created, and it should do the trick for you.

That is a nice little action for quickly extracting objects or parts of photos. Thanks. I do have uses for such an action.

It's like I see in different programs that I use, something very simple that could be implemented simply but is not for some reason.
I would love to see:
New Image from copy
Which would be layer specific and selected area.
New image from layer
Whole layer.
New image from image
Whole image layers merged.
New image from selection
Whole image layers merged.
