View Full Version : File saving problem

I have just used the lens correction filter to correct barrel distortion. The original file is a .jpg. After the correction I have tried to close and expected to just over right the old file with the corrected one but I get a dialog that only offers .psd and .tiff as options. I then have to go through the palaver of converting the file to .jpg . Is there something I'm missing or a fix?

Are you just closing the file.
Try 'File-Save' Or 'File-Save as'
I have no other explanation 'cos I tried both and had no problem.

Sorry, but I hope this works

Getting the options of only .psd and/or .tif may suggest that you are trying to save a layered file. Did you flatten the layers before trying to save ?

Further to the above, I have just had a play about and noticed that even if I try this lens correction on an image with only one layer, when I start that layer is titled "background", but on finishing the lens correction, that one layer is now "layer 0".
You should then, indeed, go into the layers options and flatten the image before saving as a jpg.
