I've posted two video tutorials on working with Photoshop image layers, actions and brushes. They are short, 5-8 minute videos that walk through various painting techniques and configuration set-ups for creating PS brushes or removing drop shadows from the edges of image layers.

The tutorials are product centric, but the principles and actions apply to image layers and brush creation in general. Hopefully, they contribute to the PS knowledgebase as well. If nothing else, you'll come away with 20 free PS foliage brushes. Be sure to download the actions, and have fun.

Nice one Dennis, I like the palm fronds :)

One old geezer to another, thanks. :)

It's never really been done in PS, integrated sets or databases of image layers, at least to the best of my knowledge. The palms are particularly intuitive because they always grow from the same point. So, figuring out what goes where is apparent. It's a little less so when dealing with amorphus looking collections of sycamore leaf cluisters. Then again, there's really no chance of a mistake with the clusters since growth points don't really apply. It's siimply a matter of does this look good or not.

I like the brush action because it's so easy to create a nice brush palette, even if you do have to go in and rename them (I pulled that from the action as it was confusing to most). The shadows trick is the one I like the best though. It's quick and effective.

I'll re-encode with a little less compression and balanced audio as time permits.

Thanks for the tutorials friend, I am quite new to photoshop and other graphical program, and by surfing net and reading and viewing these tutorials I am trying to learning it. and one thing I have to admit that I liked the "Compositing Palm Trees"very much. I think later on I can use these technique in other projects.

Thanks
