Hi, i've seen rounded corner images instead of 90degree corners and would really like to know how to do them, i know it involves the rounded rectangle and a layer and that's about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
As you know already you have to select Rounded Rectangle Tool from Toolbox :D And in Option Bar (is located just bellow Menu) you'll see almost on the left side of it three small icons next to each other. The first one is SHAPE LAYERS, second one is PATHS, and third is FILL PIXELS. Ok, you can use any of those three but i will explain it to you all three of them. First to set the that "rounding" on your rectangle again in Option Bar you have option RADIUS and there you can key in value for "rounding".
1. SHAPE LAYERS when selected - When you click and drag with your mouse to draw a rounded rectangle in Layers palette when you release mouse button will appear new shape layer with vector mask. From left side of the vector mask you'll see something like some "colored square" and it will be filled with foreground color you have at that moment. To change that color just double click on that "color square" and you'll get Color picker. So you can colorize it as you like.
2. PATHS when selected - Again draw rounded rectangle and this time difference will be that in Layers palette you'll have nothing. Only what you'll see is gray shape. Basically your shape - rounded rectangle is path so you need to go in Paths palette and choose LOAD PATH AS A SELECTION or quicker and my favorite way :D press COMMAND + ENTER (MAC) or CTRL + ENTER (PC) and your path will be loaded as a selection. After that is done you could open new layer and fill that selection with color.
3. FILL PIXELS when selected - First open new layer, than choose foreground color you like and draw rounded rectangle. What this will do is immediately draw shape and fills it with foreground colors.
So, basically depending on your document size you'll have to adjust Radius to achieve "rounding" you like.
Hope this was helpful, if any questions - ask them :D!
See ya
