I am holding my breathe; could not find anyone within my community of photographers from the School of the Art Institute that had any opinions. Some of them are younger and have not taken slides for years like I have. They had slides for entering shows and presenting to galleries. However, a local camera store had an older model and said it works fine. The Edina Mn art center has an Epson 700 and they charge $15.00 oer hour to use the equipment. I could pay for the scanner by doing my own on the new V750-M Pro Scanner in no time flat!!
I do have a 64 bit computer so that is a bit worrisome that it will definitely work. The flash and javas will not work on my computer. We have tried everything. I basically use my computer for editing photos, videos etc
A big investment for me and my family to scan all of our slides. I think it best work....

I have had the same scanner since the summer of 2008, With Epson Scan I have scanned thousands of 2 1/4 negs from years of shooting Hassys'. Are you using the supplied neg carriers? Also you must tell Epson Scan what format negs are in the carrier, (6x6, 6x4.5), the process is not as straightforward with Silverfast. YMMV.

Best Regards,

Recently purchased V750 scanner based on all the hype I read. To my chagrin discovered I can not scan 2 1/4 format - period. Also, the SilverFast bundled is 32 bit.
I have Vista 64 bit on my new computer. I have to hold my breath until Silverfast comes out with a 64 bite. Still more, Epson tech support is offers worthless support. The rep I talked with did not seem to know the difference between 32 and 64 bit. If any one has an idea of how I can scan 2 1/4 on a V750 let me know.
