To go along with the announcement of the new Adobe Creative Suite 3, my fellow Photoshop Guy Matt Kloskowski and I have updated the NAPP CS3 Learning Center with some videos demonstrating the new features in the Photoshop Cs3 Extended version. They include 3D capabilities, video, measurement and analysis. These features are exclusive to the Extended version which will be sold separately from the standard version. You can check out the the new vids here and to get more info on both versions go here.
WOW!!! For the first time in its history, Photoshop World registration has sold out, breaking the all-time East Coast attendance record. This one is going to be BIG. There is going to be all kinds of cool stuff. There are all-new Lightroom sessions and Adobe will be on hand, boasting all the new features of the upcoming Creative Suite 3. Of course, there is a long list of who’s who in the world of Photoshop training who will be bringing their best tips and techniques. Not to mention, BIG ELECTRIC CAT will be performing live at the Photoshop World party at Jilian’s. Don’t forget, you can still get a taste of Photoshop World by getting a free pass to the Tech Expo, which will be open to the public on April 5th. Get more info on the expo and get your free pass here.
That’s right, Adobe will be broadcasting a live webcast of the CS3 launch party from New York City on Tuesday. This live webcast will be at 3:30 pm, so bookmark this page so that you can be among the first to check it out. Also at the event, my fellow Photoshop Guys; Scott, Matt and Dave will be there doing an on-location episode of Photoshop TV. So keep a close eye out.
The Photoshop World Tech Expo is one the most exciting and most anticipated events at Photoshop World. It boasts some the biggest names in the industry demonstrating their latest and greatest technologies. There are also expo classes with Photoshop World instructors teaching the latest techniques right on the Expo floor. The really good news is all of this will be open to the public on Thursday, April 5 from 10:00 to 5:00 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Go to here for your free pass, otherwise it is $25 at the door.
Seeing new technology has always amazed me and this is certainly no exception. Here is a video demo of a multi-touch large format display that is fully interactive as you work. You can access tools and settings right on screen with the touch of your hand. It does however, seem to be a little slow and not quite as fluid as you would hope, but it sure is promising. Couple more years development and it will be the next best thing. At any rate, watching the demo is pretty darn cool! Check it out here.
Jack Davis, co-author of the Photoshop WOW! and and How To Wow: Photoshop for Photography has teamed up with onOne Software to release a free set of Develop presets for Photoshop Lightroom. This is a sizable collection of presets varying from basic tonal correction to B&W conversion and vignetting. Since they are presets, you can modify the settings once you have applied them. Not only that, it’s a great way to really get familiar with how Lightroom works. Just apply a preset to different images and then study the settings for each. It’s definitely worth checking out. For more info and to download the free presets go here.
In an unprecedented move, Adobe is going to be hosting a Developers Kitchen at Photoshop World in Boston on April 3, 2007 from 1:00-5:00 pm. They will be providing assistance in preparing your plug-ins for Photoshop CS3. This is just too cool — to be able to talk with Adobe developers in person. So bring your list of questions, you never know when or if this will happen again. To get more info and to sign-up go here.

If you have never checked out Photoshop TV, then there is no better time. This week’s episode is a special one because I somehow found myself hosting the show all by myself. Well, not entirely by myself. I had help from NAPP’s Creative Director Felix Nelson, who was gracious enough to come in and share some of his cool Photoshop tips. I also managed to squeeze in a couple tutorials of my own. It’s a show full of laughs and tears and….. well!! Oh, just check it out here and enjoy!!

In Bridge, you can add keywords to images to make searching for pictures a little less cumbersome. You don’t, however, want the process to become tedious as well. By either Command-clicking (PC: Ctrl-clicking) or Shift-clicking on images, you can select multiple files inside Bridge. Once you have the files selected, you can go to the Keywords panel and turn on any keyword you like. This will apply the keyword to all of the files that you have selected. It takes away a little bit of the pain of categorization, but just a little.
