Back from Cruising!

Back in the office finally after teaching on a seven day cruise through the Caribbean. This shot I took when we were docked in Curacao. This event was presented by Cruising Through Life and Matt Kloskowski, Dave Cross, and I all had a great time learning and laughing with all the attendees. We made stops in Aruba and Curacao. Really interesting places and hotter than you can imagine!!! When we weren’t soaking up the sun, we were in the classroom having fun with Photoshop. I hope everyone had as much fun learning as we did teaching. It was a really great group of people and we all had a blast! Although I think we all would agree it’s nice to be back home!!!

    Corey,

An unrelated comment to this post, actually a question. I’m in the Chicago area and you are due here soon with the CS4 D&D tour. I am a CS3 user. As this seminar is based on CS4, will it center on concepts that are unique to new CS4 features or is it something that a CS3 user can appreciate and incorporate as well.

Create A Composite Layer

If you have a multilayer composition and you
want to apply an effect to all the layers at once, don’t flatten the layers–use a composite layer instead. Hide the layers you want excluded, and press Shift-Command-Option-E (PC: Shift-Ctrl-Alt-E). A new layer will be created at the top containing a merged copy of all the visible layers.

Another option is to create a new layer at the top of the stack and make it active. Command-click (PC: Ctrl-click) each layer you want to include to make those layers active, as well. Press Option-Command-E (PC: Alt-Ctrl-E).
