Anyway if you are in the area, please come on out and join for the day as we explore some of the coolest Photoshop techniques around. You can find out more and register by going here. Hope to see you there!
Also don’t forget you still have a couple weeks to enter the “So You Think You Can Teach Photoshop” contest being put on by the NAPP. This is your chance to show the world how well you can teach Photoshop. Hey, you never know until you try. Click here if you worthy of the task.
Well my west coast tour continues. It began last week in Las Vegas for Photoshop World then I hopped over to Los Angeles to teach a couple sessions at Adobe MAX. Which, by the way, Mark Hamill made an appearance at one of the general sessions. Can you believe it? I saw Luke Skywalker in person. Anyway, now I am in Portland for the Down & Dirty Seminar Tour tomorrow and then I will finally be heading home. While in my travels I have come up with a load of new ideas for great tutorials. So be looking out for those in the coming weeks.
I also wanted to take a moment and give a big congrats to the founders of Adobe System Dr. John E. Warnock and Dr. Charles M. Geschke. Who, earlier this week, were presented with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Obama for their contributions to the desktop publishing revolution. I personally want to thank them because without them, I would not be here writing this blog. Way to go guys!!!
So I had a blast at Photoshop World last week in Vegas. I hope everyone enjoyed my sessions as much as I did teaching them. You can see some photos of Photoshop World over at Scott Kelby’s blog. It was such a great crowd, but I am hardly done. I am now in Los Angeles to teach a couple of hand-on classes at the Adobe MAX conference. We are at the famous L.A. convention center which has been seen in a number movies. Of course, being the big movie fan that I am, it just makes things that much cooler. In fact, the hotel I am staying in is the same one they shot the famous horse chase scene in True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Isn’t that cool!!!! Anyway, if you are here at MAX and see me walking around come up and say Hi! Well that’s it for now. Have a great Monday!!!
Live from Las Vegas it’s Photoshop World!!! Well, not live but you know. Today is keynote day and that means we are off and running. I am super excited about my sessions today. I have my Illustrator Down & Dirty Trick and then later today I will be doing a Photoshop 3D class. This one is going to be fun!!! The keynote presentation was absolutely hilarious and really sets the tone for the rest of the show, and we have only just begun!
I do want to give a big congrats to my friend and colleague Dave Cross for being one the esteemed inductees into the the 2009 Photoshop Hall of Fame. I have been working with Dave now for three years and I am always stopping in his office to bounce ideas and get input and he always has great advice. I am certainly very fortunate to be around people like Dave.
Well I am off to teach my first session of the day. Have a great day and I will be posting news update periodically both here and on Twitter.
Well I am in the office today wrapping up some last minute things before it’s time to head out to Las Vegas for Photoshop World. I will be blogging and tweeting throughout the event so stay tuned. If you are not following me on Twitter yet go here. I am very excited about the new pre-con I am teaching with Dave Cross. This hands-on workshop is all about shooting and designing a cool movie poster from start to finish. This is the kind of class I would pay to attend. It’s going to be a lot of fun!!!
Don’t forget you still have until October 31 to enter the “So You Think You Can Teach Photoshop” contest over hosted by the NAPP. This your chance to show your stuff and how well you can teach it. When I’m done working with an image, I like to sit and admire it (hey, I spent six hours working on it, I should). To do that, I hit the Tab key, then hit the F key three times. This hides all of the panels and toolbars and lets you see the image by itself surrounded by black. To get back to regular mode, press the F key and the Tab key one more time.
